Looking for an exciting, fun-filled evening this fall...while raising money for a great cause? Then mark your calendar for November 19th! Back by popular demand, this lively game offers ticket holders a ‘one-in-200 chance’ to win a grand prize of $3,500! But here’s the reverse raffle twist: instead of the first ticket drawn winning big...it’s the LAST ticket drawn that will take home the grand prize! There will also be 15 other reverse raffle prizes of $100 to $500 drawn and awarded throughout the game, making your odds of winning even greater! Sale of the reverse raffle tickets are limited to 200 (ticket holders need not be present to win).
New this year! We have a guest speaker. Reality TV Star and Pit Bull advocate Luigi ,AKA “Shorty the Pit Boss” Rossi will be joining the festivities. He will share his journey from being convicted felon to turning his life around and becoming a nationally known pit bull advocate and defender.

A second presentation by “Shorty” will be held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel (lower level) on Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. Doors open at noon. All ages welcome.
You can order your tickets to the Reverse Raffle online from the KHS website. Tickets for the event are $100 each and include dinner, beverages and one reverse raffle ticket for the grand prize of $3,500 (assumes all reverse raffle tickets are sold). Additional tickets for dinner and beverages only are available for $40 each. In addition to the reverse raffle drawing, the event includes a number of side raffles, as well as other prizes and a fun-filled evening with fellow supporters of the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Humane Society’s Operation Fix-It program which offers pet owners low-cost spaying/neutering of their dogs and cats. Counseling and educational materials are also offered and available to clientele. Over 28,000 animals have been spayed or neutered through Operation Fix-It since it began in May of 2002 - but we need your help to continue this important work. The Kalamazoo Humane Society is a non-profit organization that does not receive government funding. Our programs and services are only possible through the generous donations of our supporters. A total of 16 Reverse Raffle tickets will be winners. All 200 tickets will be drawn throughout the evening with prize money being given according to the following:

Side Raffles – Side raffles are held throughout the evening usually taking place after each draw of twenty-five Reverse Raffle tickets (i.e., after draw 25, 50, 75, etc.). The event MC will announce the item(s) to be raffled. A description or photograph of the raffle item will be projected on a screen for easy identification. Volunteers will go throughout the room selling raffle tickets for $5 each or (5) for $20. The purchaser receives a ticket and a matching ticket is place in a bowl. When the ticket purchases are complete, a winning ticket is drawn from the bowl. The holder of that ticket is the winner of the item being raffled. A number of consolation prizes will be given out during the evening as well. Side raffle items will be available for viewing between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. the night of the event.
Side Boards – There will be a minimum of two side boards at the event. The first side board consists of 200 squares numbered 1-200. Event participants can purchase a square on the board for $5 each or (five for $20). Once a square is purchased, the purchaser writes their name and phone number in the square. If they purchased a square that has the number in it of the last Reverse Raffle ticket drawn, they win 50% of the money collected from the sale of the side board squares.
The second side board will have 100 squares on it. Each square will be sold for $10 each. Instead of the winner receiving 50% of the money collected from $10 square sales, the winner will win a special prize. The winner for this side board will be chosen at the end of the evening. The winning ticket will be pulled from a bowl containing slips of paper numbered 1-100.
Side board squares may be purchased at the Kalamazoo Humane Society office prior to the Reverse Raffle. We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You need not be present at the event to win. When purchasing a side board square, please make sure to print your name and phone number clearly on the side board square(s).
Auction – Expect the unexpected. At anytime, the drawing of Reverse Raffle tickets may be stopped briefly so a really cool item can be auctioned off by our guest auctioneer.
