There is no law preventing outdoor pets, but there are laws that protect them.
Outdoor dogs are required to have access to adequate shelter and be properly tethered.
KHS can help owners obtain a shelter that meets the minimum legal requirements
Helping pet owners gives KHS an opportunity to educate them about proper care that can improve the quality of life for their pet.
If you've been contacted by law enforcement about providing shelter for your outdoor dog, please call us.
If you are aware of a dog without adequate shelter, contact the Animal Control department for your county.
Can you help?
Many of the dog houses we provide have been donated (new or used) to us.
If you have a dog house you no longer need, we may be able to find a new home for it. Used dog houses must be clean and meet the minimum legal requirements.
Call us for details.
