Random Acts of Kindness Day 2022!
Random Acts of Kindness Day® is Thursday February 17, 2022
Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 13-19, 2022
Are you ready to celebrate kindness with KHS? We're gearing up for an exciting day of random acts of kindness (even though it should be EVERY day!). We know it's not always easy to act in the moment. Here are 5 ways you can participate in #RAKDAY (or week) before this week is over.
Visit a local shelter or pet rescue, and bring pet food or supplies with you! If you'd rather not visit in person, you can also use your favorite online retailer to shop for food and supplies and ship it directly to the shelter or rescue you choose. Other places that can use pet food include Milestone Senior Services (formerly Senior Services of Southwest Michigan), or the Kalamazoo Humane Society Pet Food Bank.
Call your veterinary clinic and let the staff know how much they mean to you and your pet! Take it a step further by visiting with drinks and snacks, or have a special lunch delivered!
Fill out a volunteer or foster application for a pet rescue, shelter, or humane organization and commit to volunteering a few hours a week or month. Make it your goal to increase your volunteer time for 2023!
Make a single donation or set up a recurring gift to a local animal welfare charity! With your gift, nonprofits can amplify the impact by making sure it helps in the most beneficial way. Even small gifts can make a surprisingly large impact. You don't need deep pockets to make a major difference in your community.l
Reach out to local senior housing, or a senior you know, and find out if there is a need for someone to help groom or walk their pets. Especially in the winter months, it may be hard for senior pet owners to get out for walks.
There are countless ways that you can help, and many only require your time. While it's true that nonprofits often ask for funding to continue their work, kindness can be given for free. The KHS team loves to get positive messages and words of encouragement from our community. We hang them in our breakroom and they give us a boost of motivation, especially on tough days. We love knowing that our work is being noticed, and it doesn't have to cost you a thing.
Speaking of kindness, we'd like to thank our Pet Food Bank Sponsor of January and February, Kindred Financial!

An espresso machine is an excellent option for people who appreciate rich, concentrated coffee. These machines force hot water through finely ground coffee under pressure, creating a flavorful drink with a distinctive crema. Depending on the model, users may adjust temperature, pressure, and extraction time. Learning basic espresso preparation can improve results over time. Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are also important because coffee oils and https://coffeewarehouse.ca/ mineral deposits can affect performance and flavor.
Residential roofing services can be valuable when purchasing, selling, or maintaining a home because the roof is an important part of the property's overall condition. A professional inspection can provide information about visible deterioration, previous repairs, ventilation, drainage, and remaining service expectations. Homeowners can use this information to plan maintenance and prioritize necessary work. Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
this is a thoughtful list of ways to spread kindness, especially for animal welfare. the suggestion to support senior pet owners with grooming or walks is particularly practical and often overlooked. it's a good reminder that helping doesn't always require money, just a bit of time and attention. thanks for sharing these concrete ideas.
