The Kalamazoo Humane Society will be closed beginning Thursday, November 26th, 2020. We will reopen on Monday, December 14th, 2020, at 9 am at the new Charles C. and Lynn L. Zhang Animal Care & Resource Center!
This move is happening after over a decade of planning and fundraising. The new Animal Care & Resource Center (ACRC) building will allow us to better meet southwest Michigan's animal welfare needs. All of our existing programs and services will continue. We are excited to gradually phase in new opportunities to help animals and the people who love them.
Our schedule is completely full through our move. We will announce new openings for the first surgeries at the ACRC as soon as we can begin scheduling after our move. The next appointment dates are still to be determined, but we will be keeping you up to date from our social media accounts, our website, and our phones.
Our pet food bank will be open this Tuesday (11/24) from 10 am to 3 pm at the 3661 Easy Street office location and is closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Food bank service will resume on Tuesday (12/1) at the new ACRC at 2272 River Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
It will take a few weeks for Google and other online services to update with our new address and location after our move. Please use our website for the most up to date information about our location, hours and service availability.
More information about our move, opening, and COVID-19 protocols and pictures of the new ACRC will follow soon. Thank you for getting us to this point! We are excited to continue our mission and look forward to serving you in our brand new, state of the art veterinary facility.
We would also like to thank our friends at Two Men and a Truck - Kalamazoo! They had done fundraisers for us the last few years and helped us last spring when we moved from Westnedge to East Street by donating free moving services. They have committed to donating moving services for us again as we move into the new ACRC building, and they've even started a Go Fund Me for us with a goal of $500. Please show your support of KHS and Two Men and a Truck and their Movers for Mutts program by leaving a donation at the Go Fund Me website. Consider this fantastic local business for your next move. We love animals, and they do, too!
